A downloadable game for Windows

Made in 72 hours for Ludum Dare 48.

Play as Hans Moleman as you work to delve deeper and deeper into Worm HQ on a quest of heart-racing espionage.

 Aim of the Game:

  • The aim of the game is to complete all of your ‘Spy tasks’ and get to the elevator to go down deeper to the next level of Worm HQ.
  • Your ‘suspicion’ level will slowly increase, as well as going up if you get caught committing espionage.
  •  You must kill any worm that witnesses your illicit acts before they reach the elevator to warn the rest of the company.
  • If your suspicion is getting high, you can complete ‘Worm tasks’ that are normal, non-espionage worm work (e.g. delivering a package to a bin) to blend in with your worm ‘colleagues’.
  • If your suspicion reaches 100% or a witness reaches the elevator, your cover will be blown - you lose.

 Controls

  •  WASD to move Hans
  •  LMB to move camera
  •  SPACE to attack (*But only attack when necessary, as killing worms will increase your suspicion level and also reduce your score)
  •  to interact with certain objects and tasks
  •  TAB to show/hide your To Do lists

They never suspected a thing. Great little game, and I think I'll keep the new look

Wow cheers for playing! Was fun to watch :) Yeah as you said in the vid, this is very short because it was made in 72 hours for a gamejam, so it's not a 'full' game so to speak. But glad you enjoyed it anyway! :D

This did not disappoint. I'd love to see a version with more levels one day to revisit as I really did enjoy the concept. There was a ton of attention to detail in the posters and set dressing. I think my favorite was the "Hang in There" worm poster with the noodle arms.

Thank you for reminding us to turn up the music/sound for the worm noises and random sound effects. Did you make them all yourself?

Haha I'm glad you enjoyed it, and especially glad you noticed all of our worm-flavoured set dressing ;) The background music was from https://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/, but every single sound effect and voice line otherwise was hand-made by us - including the very authentic apple eating sound effect that took me two apples to get sounding right haha.

Yeah the lack of levels was our biggest regret, we just ran out of time in the GameJam and spent most of the 72 hours on the aesthetics and game mechanics. We might polish it up a bit and release a post-jam version in the future with more levels and better balancing!

And even though the textures were not inspired by Megaman Legends as I'm afraid I never played it, I'll definitely say they were if it makes us sound better! ;)

Cheers for checking it out, it was fun to watch the stream!

I made an account just to leave a comment. Ok, this is a cute game. It's a hidden gem of a game. Brilliant concept idea.
